I just bought me a led 3d tv and love it. I also think the oled tvs are amazing. If I can get me a western digital wd tv to along with it I will be a happy camper.

I disagree with you Paul. Didn’t you just watch the video?
I don’t think you’ll be able to buy an LCD or Plasma screen at any price in 5 years. Yes, OLED is super expensive right now, but so was every piece of new tech since the wireless was invented.

Even more significantly OLED will become even cheaper than LCD is now because it doesn’t need the rigid framework to protect the glass screen. It doesn’t consume as much power and hence it doesn’t need extensive cooling components.

Perhaps, sadly you may not live to see the demise of LCD and Plasma. I don’t know your remaining life expectancy.

I’ll believe it when I see it – I don’t think OLEDs will ever become available for consumers, we’ll be using LCD and plasma for the rest of my life.

I want a big screen for watching soccer at 5 stadia in Botswana for the World Cup 2010. Rental or buy. I want to find out the cost and the logistics of having the big screen. I may have 2000 to 20,000customers per game.

Sony isn’t on the sidelines at all, they are one of the first with a OLED tv released.

Philips and Panasonic are also heavily investing in OLED technology. This type of TV will find it’s way to consumers sooner or later, I’m sure about this.
