“OLED TV panels will cost less than LCD panels in 2016”

Yes, 2016. A long time to wait for a decent sized OLED TV at a reasonable price.

This forecast is according to Won Kim, LG Display’s OLED sales and marketing VP speaking at FPD International 2009, in Yokohama City, Japan.

LG is still planning to release their 15 inch OLED TV by the end of 2009. That’s fairly exciting as there isn’t much of 2009 left.

LG Display plans to release 20-in and larger OLED TVs in 2010, 30-in and larger OLED TVs in 2011 and 40-in and larger panels in 2012.

“Forty-inch and larger OLED panels will be fairly expensive in 2012, but they will be available in the market,” Kim said.

Be sure to check out the great article at TechOn on LG OLED TV. I’m also looking forward to doing an LG OLED TV review by the end of the year.
